  1. Renew is still larger than ECR and ID. EPP+Renew+S&D still have a majority. Honestly, that’s not too bad. Previous polls were worse.

  2. Does this mean von der leyen gets another term?

EPP+S&D+RE is 398 but can she win all the centrists over?

  3. nice to see the far left losing 3 seats

also, ID gaining only 13 seats after 2 years of brutally painful inflation is not a bad result at all

in many European countries, the populism wave peak is behind us, as the impacts of the energy crisis are permanently fading away

  4. This is a disaster, we are now looking at how the European project die.

  5. So the massively feared shift to the right didn’t happen very much. The sane-ish parties still have a majority. EPP+S&D can find majorities of convenience with either Renew, the Greens, or even ECR.

  6. Doesn’t seem like enough votes for the right for EPP to join with them to get more of what they want through. Same shit will continue.

  7. The top 1% is laughing their asses of while the rest is kicking down in society.

  8. So another 5 years of CDU… EPP rule. Its 25 in a row now, right ?

  9. Can we label this more clearly. I can’t tell who the nazis are.

  10. Is this laid out in their left to right alignment? Also, is that how they actually sit in parliament?

  11. It’ll be interesting to see if the parties in NI choose to join other groups. AfD might rejoin ECR or ID.

  12. What is tbe likley destination for the 51 +51 not yet aligned though?

If the outright fascist (“not all in the SS were criminals”) AfD is among them, did the far right then still grow?

Don’t understand why everyone was asking Von der Lyen if she would work with the far right if she never needed to according to math?

  13. Everyone relieved that nazis and pro-russians (well, pretty much the same now) didn’t get more presence, but look at that huge chunk of the freaking EPP, shit bro how is that many people voting those pricks in freaking 2024 and with this global situation.

  14. In many ways better than expected, just sad that the Greens are so small now, next to all the ideological bullshittery we would need more of that, instead of less.

  15. And the geniuses in this sub thought their far right heroes were going to win the parliament.

  16. 62 for ID makes me feel a bit nervous. Is anyone else a pessimist here?

  17. I feel like there are lots of parties in the EPP group that would not call themself Christian Democrats

  18. How do they make projections like this when everyone is going to start making new groups after the election. This assumes all the groupings stay the same.

  19. I wasn’t ready for those “doesn’t look that bad” comments tbh

  20. Here I was hoping the elections would prove useful to combat climate change and inequalities in society.. but some punks wanted to protest vote actual Neonazis, so here we are… Guess we need to wait for another big war to drive the price of gas higher, to bolster European Energy independence… I swear..

  21. I feel like historians will look back at this day in confusion. Why did the “eurosceptics” *gain* votes at a time when Europe was militarily threatened?

  22. Traveled 500km out of Switzerland in the middle of exams to vote for the first time in my life. I hope it was worth it.
