War in Ukraine spurs demand for US weapons

in the war between Russia and Ukraine combat fighting on the ground is making a comeback and the US can make basic artillery shells fast enough after the Cold War ended the Pentagon has divested or neglected facilities once used to make everything from shells to explosive powder and focused instead on high-tech Weaponry what’s left is crumbling infrastructure outdated machinery and a tiny Workforce that can’t keep up with the growing International demand the prospect that future Wars could resemble the grinding combat in Ukraine has stirred fears that the US Arsenal could be someday stretched to the breaking point to catch up the US is now spending more than $5 billion to overhaul aging production facilities like this one in Scranton Pennsylvania the Army’s goal is to produce 68,000 projectiles a month by the start of next year before Ukraine was invaded over 2 years ago us production average last than a quarter of that so far it has been able to reach 35,000 shells a month the US will need to almost double its current monthly output in the next several months to reach its goal but getting funding from Congress can be a major obstacle lawmakers spent 6 months in a political fight before they were able to pass a spending bill that included funding for increased Munitions manufacturing as Congress continues to pass stop Gap legislation that keeps the government open while kicking the can down the road on major policy issues securing funding for Munitions may become increasingly difficult ahead of November elections and Beyond

Ground wars are still won with bullets and artillery shells. But with severely outdated ammunition plants, the US is finding that it can’t make them fast enough.

  1. Indescrimenent death from afar. Haven’t we learned anything from the past two World Wars and the countless others. Civilian’s and children suffer tremendously from fire in that direction and forget artillery bombardments. Civilian deaths totaled somewhere from 50-55 million in WWII alone from a multitude of ways but artillery did its lions share. Sad we can’t find ways to be at peace! 😢

  2. US manufacturing war machine
    China manufacturing green tech machine
US okay give china green tech 100% tarrif

  3. The problem is there are no paying customers. Nobody in the Ukraine defense contact group wants to buy 155mm from the US for Ukraine.

  4. This video is ridiculous: the U.S. fights with jet fighter, jet bombers, submarines, missiles…not with the outdated means of war Ukraine and Russia are using. Their war is not really a war. Rather, it is just murder.

  5. I understand that the US is giving loans to Ukraine so they can use it to buy US weapons. But what happens if they can’t pay it back?
