Massive surprises from vas and ps in opposite directions. Vas basically entirely carried by their chairwoman Li Andersson with a new finnish vote record clear as day. I, for one, am really relieved by the lack of support for ps though.
Going to be very interesting to see how the Left is going to deal with having Andersson and Saramo going off to Brussels. They have been pretty much the only ones in the party who are widely seen as reasonable people. Now all they have in Finland are people like the putinist Yrttiaho and literal commies like Honkasalo.
For those who aren’t familiar with the parties:
Kok. is a centre-right party and is going to get 4 seats
SDP is a centre-left party and is going to get 2 seats
Vas. is a left-wing party, and is going to get 3 seats
Kesk. is favoured by people living in rural areas and is going to get 2 seats
PS is a far-right party, and is going to get 1 seat
Vihr. is the green party in Finland and is going to get 2 seats.
SFP is a party which represents the swedish speaking minority in the country, and is going to get 1 seat.
KD are christian democrats, and is going to get 0 seats
Massive W for the Left. Shame that the European left is so pro-Russia

Populist protest votes went from right to left.
An absolutely unprecedented, historic win for the Left Alliance. I have never seen a Finnish election result so different from the polling. The Left got something like 10% more votes than what was predicted. Chairperson Andersson broke the Finnish record for most votes by a single person in a EU-election by an incredible margin! So far she has received 244 000 votes, while the previous record was 157 000 in 1996 elections! What a crazy result, congrats to her and her party!
I was told we would get no official results until late in the night. Why were these revealed in the evening? Super intrigued…

Finnish national populists lost half of their support while Left wing alliance gained 10%units more support compared to last EU elections 😀

Unprecented result for the left. Still don’t get how Kok got so many votes as they are basically just a party for the 1%, but I guess 25% of people are always going to live their life as mental servants for the upper class.
They say Finland is the happiest country in multiple years in a row.
