Ah that’s good. So when can the nurses expect a raise?
>At that point in time, we did not have a secretary-general in place, if I look at the changes that we have made, if I look at where we are from a vaccination programme point of view, if I look at where we are from a testing point of view, the Department of Health has been central to that.
>”So the reason why the Government felt a higher salary was needed for that role is we believe that role and that department were essential to where public and economic health is now.”
All fair.
300K seems like mad money, but it’s what is required to get someone suitable. Roles like this need to be competitive against the private sector. Otherwise they would never get anybody in it.
What did he do again?
Well the pandemic is over (apparently we can just say it’s over) so can his pay go back to normal?
Ffs… there’s more of it.🙄
The black hole that’s the HSE warranted another 81K
Virtually every question Claire Byrne asked him today he responded by bringing up the pandemic
If it was just for his contribution during the pandemic then wouldn’t a one off bonus not be more appropriate?
Fine Gael: “There’s no magic money tree to pay for all the “free stuff” you want! Don’t you understand basic economics?”
Also Fine Gael: “Oh shit, one of our already overpaid civil servants wants a pay rise? Here’s 81k of the taxpayer’s money, enjoy”.
It should be taken back and put towards compensation for yet another HSE scandal.
What the fuck is wrong with the Irish people.
Between government, church, and HSE
You all fucking moan and fight with one another when the common dominator is a combination of all of the fore mentioned.
Every sitting politician should be hounded by crowds in their constituent offices.
Demand answers.
That’s what you vote and pay them for.let pro and anti Vax pair up and demand the truth.
Go into all sitting TD’S offices together and put them on the spot.
We have to collectively demand answers,
Their tearing families and communities apart.
United we stand or divided we fall.
Hold them accountable whatever the outcome.
