  1. With Palhinha most likely coming, the Tah rumors make even less sense to me. You want a CB with ball abilities to compensate for some of Palhinha’s deficits. Pairing Tah with de Ligt or Kim with de Ligt is absolute madness if you decide to keep de Ligt and sell Upamecano. If you keep the latter things are looking a bit better, but i still want a left footed CB regardless. Someone like Inacio, Calafiori or Theate. Theate is even rumored to only cost around 20m which would be a much better fit than Tah imo.

  2. While i’m against selling Kimmich in principle (unless someone offers +100 mio), I do wonder if there are things we don’t know about regarding Kimmich when it comes to chemistry or maybe negative influence on the team?

There is no other way I can explain our board, that is obsessed with attaining / keeping leading german NT players, willing to sell the very definition of what they want the club to look like (mentality and representaion wise).

There has got to be more to it. Personally, I think Kimmich might be the one eying an exit and the board is simply preparing for a possible exit by checking the market for him.

From a neutral and sane point of view, I simply can’t fathom our board (even for as bad as they’re decision making has been), to really consider renewing Davies, selling Kimmich and De Ligt and getting Tah….all out of pure sporting / tactical reasons. Thats essentially self sabotage.

Palinha and Simons make absolute sense, but everything else that is being reported is damn near comedy.

I guess more will be revealed.

  3. I do get a little worried with Pahlinha’s age who will be 29 to start next season. Recently when we’ve seen the legs of top DMs go, it happens pretty quickly (Vidal / Javi with us, plus Fabinho, Casimiro, etc.). I think he’ll be able to slide in to help at CB when needed which could help with value for the contract.

Those who are worried about his passing stats at Fulham, here is a [breakdown of his time at Sporting](https://medium.com/@manavpal8/scout-report-joao-palhinha-cad3c4013a37).

  4. Honestly I don’t want to talk much about the current squad plan and transfer rumours because I still desperately hope that its not gonna be all true, but if you think about the rumours in defence (keeping Davies and Upamecano, selling de Ligt, buying Tah) then it all makes sense if the idea is we are returning to a suicidal high back line similar to Flick times and our main focus is on speedy defenders.

I cant think of any other reason why you would insist on keeping Davies, and why you would want to keep Upa and Kim over De Ligt. And Tah would fit in as I saw a statistic from last year saying he was the 6th fastest player in the Bundesliga.

That would also mean that Dier for example would have a rough time here as well, unless he is maybe being transfered to CDM as he used to play several years ago.

  5. If we sell deligt I’m not watching football anymore.

  6. With all the different opinions about the (most likely) addition of Palhinha, how was the sentiment about Javi Martinez back in 2012? I followed Bayern back then, but not that deep that I can remember the noises around the Javi transfer so Im curious

  7. > Bayern’s initial offer to Fulham for João Palhinha was €35m plus add-ons, which Fulham rejected. But early in the week the two clubs will talk again and the expectation is to reach an agreement for a fee of around €40-45m. Palhinha was very professional last season – he didn’t complain, played a fantastic season, trained in a fantastic way, didn’t ask for a transfer in January, and so this is why the player now expects Fulham to give the green light and let him go to Bayern [@FabrizioRomano]

  8. >Bayern are still monitoring Chris Führich’s situation closely. The German international is on the list as one of the next names after João Palhinha. Führich’s release clause is now worth €26m after he was called up for the Euros [

    Lovely..

  9. Madrid opting out of club world cup, hope we do the same. The prize money is pretty low and not worth playing the extra games.
