Killed over 200 civilians and 3 other hostages, used pier built for ‘aid’
Is the “Genocide Joe” crowd seriously upset that hostages were rescued? I mean, Hamas kept the hostages in a heavily populated area and there was a huge armed resistance to the operation. How is that not Hamas getting those civilians killed?
With Biden on this. The conflict cannot end while hostages exist. Ideally this would be done through ceasefire negotiations but if Hamas isn’t going to agree to give them back (or in the case of Noa lie about not knowing where they are) then rescuing them might be the only way to bring them to the table.
There’s still like ~120 left unaccounted for. Obviously a good chunk are probably dead but I think everyone would prefer confirmation over this limbo we’re in.
Unfortunately, the use of civilians as shields is nothing new in warfare.
To me, Hamas are cowards for hiding behind civilians.
Watch the movie “Apocalypse Now” free on youtube for a flashback to the war America still can not talk about.
Holy astroturfing hell, the comments on this post are a hot mess.
I’m all for rescuing hostages and also ending this nightmare. I’m on no one’s side, just like most people. Hamas fucked up and Israel overreacted.
> “We won’t stop working until all the hostages come home and a ceasefire is reached,” Biden said before diving into the latter part of his remarks which lasted less than five minutes in total. “That is essential to happen.”
God, the headline takes the Biden quote out of context in such a bad way…
AIPAC approves this message.
No mention of the 200+ Palestinians killed
In before the 🔒 award
And kill 279 in the process?
Fuck Hamas send them all into oblivion.
Imagine vilifying the US and Israel for rescuing their hostages. What kind of monster do you have to be?
The Palestinians aren’t helpless. They support this, they enable this, they are a part of this. Stand up for yourselves against Hamas.
Really disturbing to see people upset that 4 hostages were released.
So referencing people killed is unintentional. So let’s call that an accident but if the accidents occur over and over and over again are they still just accidents? Any duty to do better to limit the death of civilians?
The biggest release of hostages has happened when there was a ceasefire. Hostages and with them a large amount of civilians tend to die when Israel tries to rescue them. Israel has said even with a hostage deal they will still attack and eradicate Hamas, rejecting the idea of peace altogether.
If terrorists went into Dallas and killed 800+ innocent citizens and took 200 hostages, if/when the Special Forces teams rescued them, there would be nothing but celebration. How does anyone believe that 200 innocent people were along with 4 hostages, 1 of whom was the highest profile hostage of them all. No Hamas? Just innocent people who had no idea what was going on? The Israeli soldier who was killed was killed by who?
If Biden’s ongoing support for genocide costs him the 2024 presidential election, it’s what he deserves – but it’s not what *we* deserve.
If you need to kill 200 people to get 4 hostages, you might have the most incompetent military around.
I hope he also mourned the death of the two other hostages and nearly 300 innocent Palestinians who died as a result of this raid. After all, an innocent Israeli is not valued more than an innocent Palestinian.
