1. We all know that the same medications cost less in other countries than they do in the US. And many of us know that you can get a better haircut for less money in some countries than you can in others. And Americans also seem to intuitively feel like they are getting ripped off, for example by housing prices.

   But for some reason when economists put all of this together and make these corrections, called PPP, it angers the most superficial and ignorant Americans simply because “China bad”. China has four times our population; chill out. It’s bizarre.

2. Of course. The only thing keeping the US on top is dollar supremacy. The US not the biggest exporter of goods or services by value or volume.
