  1. That should be so embarassing for Germany, not only that the AFD are a bunch of racist and conspiratorial morons but also all the ties they have to totalitarian Russia, where more are uncovered like every day.

And did they just conveniently forget that Russia was blackmailing with gas supplies even long before nordstream blew up? Let alone the campaigning to shut down nuclear plants to increase reliance on Russia instead… who then stabbed Germany in the back anyways.

And whats next is the reichsbürgers movement (that exists within AFD) going to become normalized in the following years? If so I would be worried if I lived in lets say… Schlesien, after all das reich still exists.

  2. Huh, who would have guessed. It amuses me that some ppl pretend it is not the consquence of their own action. Rise of a radical party is always the sign of social and economical problem that are not addressed properly hence giving these parties an easy way to be publicists.

  3. Honestly that AfD was going to earn that many votes wasn’t surprising to me, what surprised me was seeing the CDU pull so much higher than the SPD, did people already forget that Merkel helpled cause a lot of the messes Europe is currently in or did they just mantain their usual block of faithful voters like governing parties usually do?

  4. Working class and the youth aren’t known for their intelligence.

  5. This is consequence of far left and green policies detached from ordinary people.

  6. Nooooo ! Surely it must be purely due to russian or iranian bots and nothing else.

  7. LoL people who need to pay for all those unwanted migration, are frustrated and feel left behind.
Who could have even thought of that. Call me surprised…

  8. Funny that the country so ardently contrite about their past history of extreme right-wing politics so openly is sliding to the right.

  9. So funny to see all the AfD supporters here mocking the idea of them having been duped while they themselves believe(d) the German population was in the past and is brainwashed today for voting in “Globalist parties”, lmao.

Then there’s the possibility that many of the pro-AfD checkboxes were of the protest vote kind, rather than out of true conviction in the party.

  10. Germany a few years ago: Come come, we welcome everyone with open arms”.

Now (after many incidents): the Far-Right gains many points because of their migration stance. And probably wants them out.

I hope all other parties take note and really start to take this issue more serious and deliver some results. Or next time they will all be the biggest party in all eu countries.

Not that they can suddenly fix the issue. As that is the other problem with such parties. As they talk big but then don’t perform. But right now, other big parties dont take the issue serious enough

  11. Jeez…look across the channel…the UK has lived through the hell, turmoil and massive deterioration in living standards since 2016 under a far right government

..that should tell all Germans that this is not a good path.

  12. The workers, who will suffer the most from AfD-politics.. after migrants. Cant make this stuff up..

  13. Fantastic news. 16% with all the mistakes that they made. They can easily get 25% in next year’s federal elections, maybe 30%. After that, the sky is the limit.

  14. Well it seems that reading an election program, understand it and vote accordingly is not a necessity anymore for the working class

  15. All of r/europe casually tries to convince us that it’s the economy and the immigration that drives up AfD numbers while in the same time the youth is the one that keeps voting them. Noone still dares to address the elephant in the room which is how much power tiktok and instagram hold nowadays and the extent to which young and especially uneducated people are vulnerable to online brainwashing.

  16. On the positive side: the need for better education never was more transparent

  17. The voter turnout numbers were sad. Not enough people voting by a long shot.

  18. That’s unpossible, Reddit said they were bad and downvoted anyone saying otherwise.

  19. And this will be the beginning of the fall of EU!

So many extremists funded by Russia are winning and will do everything to sabotage Ukraine’s help.

After Russia wins, China will win too.

And step by step the EU will crumble and fall!

  20. How can they be so stupid?

The workers vote for the neoliberal party which want’s to lower taxes for the rich

and the young vote for the same party that also denies climate change.

  21. Unbiased reporting from the “Euroean Conservative”.

The article mentions the AfD never planned to deport (“remigrate”) migrants and refugees. Suspicious

  22. If it happens as I my country everytime far right gains more votes and the left loose then, having left parties blaming working class cuz they are dumb and don’t know how to vote rather than actually helping the working class, AFD is ill keep gaining more and more adepts even if they policies are mostly against the working class.

Working class votes to survive. Last years European policies have fucked us so much without taking into account our problems. Working class parties which consider themselves left parties always act when they are in power as if they were the opposition. Wtf mate you are the fucking government and you are supposed to look for the working class rights. What do you spect if your policies are making working class people having to buy extremely expensive cars to be able to keep going to work (for example).

Then left parties loose the elections and blames working class: oh how bad educated and how dumb is the working class.

Stop blaming those who are suffering due to the inflation (due to EU stupid policies in between), and fighting to have enough money for rent and fucking act!
