They can hardly all take turns using the same football field in one city to train.
Because most cities only have one training facility that will host an international level football team, and they don’t want to share the training facilities with their rivals.
I would imagine it is easier to find appropriate housing (including,i assume, training facilities and such) by speading them out. With the games being held all over the country, there is no reason to assemble them all in one place.
Most cities dont have enough Space for 2 teams,
and Teams play in different stadiums, so maybe if you play more in Munich, you stay more in southern germany, if you play more in NRW you choose a facility there, to reduce travel time
Last time we had all athletes in the same place, 11 of them died.
Commercial reason among others. It brings tourism to a town/region because some fans would travel to where their team is staying. It also includes a whole country in the tournament not just the cities where the venues are.
Thank god; Berlin gets too crowded during a normal summer, imagine if we also had to find place for all the teams and their attendants.
Poor Czechs. I don’t see how they deserve to stay in Norderstedt. But at least they have it not to far to get to Hamburg.
A mix of. Near to the stadiums at matchday. You can’t block to many hotels in one city. You need training facilities. Tourism to the smaller areas.
