6. It’s my humble opinion and only my opinion, Donetsk is and was the focal point of Russia at the start of this year. Thus by using Kharkov as bait to send all that Ukraine could muster to stabilise Kharkov, the Ukrainians have had to deploy much needed manpower from the eastern front to do this. Hence more territory gain in such a short space of time in Donetsk. A lack of western weapons promised by the west that are only now making their way to the Ukrainians, hasn’t been helping either. To be frank, Ukraine can even with as much aid pouring in now at best stabilise what it currently holds onto, for now but the rate of gains achieved all over the frontline by Russia is both alarming and is only going to grow with what is pouring into this conflict by Russia in weapons and manpower. Not good news for Ukraine.
