Hi guys, I’ve bought these brezel piccolinis, because I’ve already tried piccolinis and think they are nice, but this one tastes so bad… like soap or something!!! Is that normal? Did I do something wrong? Has anyone already tried it?

  1. I see them so often when I go shopping. But I never took them because of the price.
    The dough is dipped in „Lauge“( idk if the correct English term is „lye“) , which may be the reason for the soapy taste.

  2. Haaave you ever eaten a proper German pretzel before?

    Pretzel dough is bathed in lye, then baked. I can kinda understand the association with soap, but what you’re tasting is the result of the baked lye dough, not soap. Embrace it, there should be nothing wrong with it.
