As the war drags on and Russia makes advances on the frontlines Ukraine is increasingly struggling to recruit enough fresh troops, with polls suggesting many of those eligible to be drafted would rather not fight. Yuriy Pikhota and Pavlo Pimakhov, two former frontline soldiers who now work as military recruitment officers say they are frequently met with insults and resistance as they patrol the streets of Kyiv to check people’s status in regards to military service.

  6. Ukrainian youths and adults don't want to fight, why doesn't US and NATO understand? For geopolitics. Unfortunately, once politics catches up with Zelensky, he will run and hide in the west.

  7. We have seen footages of people swimming to get away and those that are simply thrown into vans in the eastern parts of the country including Odessa. Most of the recruits have been from the eastern part of the country

  8. I can think of another country not too long ago patrolling the streets and checking "papers" it didn't end too well for them either.

  20. Why are there so many police recruiters than actual needed soldiers ? Maybe it's better to be a police recruiter to avoid going to the front otherwise these police recruiters could serve as several battalions.

  36. I remember working around soldiers from Europe and the Middle East when I was in U.S. Army stationed at Ft. Bliss Texas the soldiers from Europe and the Middle East were in their mid to late twenties or thirties us American soldiers were teenagers 17,18,19 if you were in your twenties or thirties you were considered an old man that’s how the Europeans and Middle eastern soldiers looked to us like full grown men with beards this was in the late 90’s the Middle eastern soldiers were an undisciplined rabble of a bunch but that’s another topic
