  2. Alito is now in the news daily with a new scandal or improper behavior. No wonder there’s a crisis of confidence in the Roberts Court. Nobody will do anything to check his impropriety.

  4. Alito is a piece of shit. I disagree with Roberts on many things, but at least he believes his mission is to interpret the law in a way that is not guided primarily by Christian nationalism.

  5. once Democrats take control of Congress they should gut the ~~Justice Department~~ SCOTUS of funding.. only fund building security and cripple this wayward court.. like republicans do when they shutdown the government

    There IS co-equal branch of government checks and balances.. and the check-writing branch does have a method to correct the SCOTUS

  9. As long as the corruption benefits one party, they will continue to abuse the system to further entrench their power. A tale as old as civilization.

    With the Supreme Court being under their command there can no longer exist legal challenges to their power as long as the majority of the Court wills it so.

    If democracy threatens their power, democracy will become effectively illegal. Think Jim Crow, but for anyone who doesn’t vote Republican.

    This is the dynamic at play. The only real hurdle is if they have the will to do so.

  21. I’d be cool if we went ahead and blacklisted thehill.com. It is a shill media source that runs all the stories you would expect from a political news site while running disinformation stories alongside them almost like advertisements to make them appear legitimate. For example, they ran a story last year praising Tulsi Gabbard with zero irony. I have no doubt the money trail flows straight from the Kremlin and we as a society should be doing more to sanitize our information vendors.
