The good news is that Imamoglu is going to be the president by the earliest election, so this show in Germany won’t last too long.
The DAVA should not have been allowed to be voted for, simply because it’s AKP-affiliated and Erdogan’s way of directly influencing German politics. It’s extremely problematic.

It’s important to look at the numbers behind this result! The voter turnout in voting district 1001 was about ten percent (10%!) so these 41% sum up to about ninety votes (90!!) in total. It’s hilarious.

This could be the start of a worrying trend (hopefully not). I neither want AKP 2.0 in my county nor in Europe!
Here in Essen 77 % of people who were able to vote for Erdogan did vote him in 2023.
