“Uisce Éireann has a water treatment plant in Freemount and said it is investigating a reported spillage at the plant.”
Feck a lot of these fish Kills in the news this year
2 more in the river Brosna in Mullingar in the last month. A well known supper market was the cause of both of these.
I can’t wait to learn about what they are going to hold management responsible for this, and how they are going to make changes to prevent it happening again.

Ireland has completely destroyed its forest. We’ve destroyed huge amounts of our wetlands and bogs. The surrounding seas are fished almost to zero. Our rivers are in a shocking state.
And we do not give a fuck.
We really need an audit or investigation of Irish water but it’ll never happen. There were lots of ways to improve the old system of local authorities but creating a semi state full of pen pushers and paying contractors twice most people’s weekly wage a day was never a good idea. I’d love to see a figure of the amount of money they’ve wasted since they started taking over.
It would be insane for them to ever make it fully private but I wouldn’t put it past the civil servants and idiotic ministers that have gotten us this far. It’s worth pointing out only two leaders have ever made their countries water service fully private: Thatcher and Pinochet.
(Fully private including all the pipes, reservoirs, sewage and wastewater treatment)
