  1. This is because during the pandemic we did some decent programs and cut child poverty in half. We just made the mistake of not charging rich people enough taxes to fund the programs, so we got inflation.

    When the programs were ended in 2022 by the Republican/Sinema/Manchin alliance, it doubled child poverty in the US.

    The main point, which has been forever proven, is that poverty is a policy choice.

  2. You could literally work full-time at any fast food or retail at their minimum of $15 an hour and be above the poverty line. Not only that, but you wouldn’t pay any taxes, and very likely get more back in aid than you paid. Here come all of the posts that other people need to pay more taxes because some people don’t work.
