Considering that the author of the article attacking Dolly is also a frequent contributor to Christianity Today and writes articles for the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberties Commission, I’d say this isn’t just a borrowed tactic…it’s just further evidence of what we all know: the GOP and the Christian Right are exactly the same thing.

  32. Christians will attack anyone and everyone. I grew up in a fundamentalist Baptist Church. The pastor there attacked Billy Graham. The guy who held televised crusades across the nation for decades, preaching about Jesus. The pastor found some minor theological difference in Graham’s message and spent years railing against the man, saying his gospel was false and people who listened to him were going to hell. If there was ever a guest preacher at our church, the pastor spent the next several weeks whining about things he didn’t like from the guest’s sermon. I saw folks online expressing shock that they were attacking Dolly… these people attack everyone.
