3. This headline is the equivalent of a teenager punching the wall in his bedroom and his buddy saying he delivered a “death blow” to his parents.

   Edit: He isn’t making a *single* point that 10,000 people before him, many of them queer, haven’t already made. He is bringing nothing to the conversation. He is also ignoring most of the counter arguments. For example, the fact that many companies feel it is more profitable to pander to queer folks to not pander to us, is a sign of progress in society. it was definitely time and then not so distant past where they would’ve lost more sales for supporting pride than they would’ve brought in supporting it. That was, for a long time, no longer the case, so we got corporate pride. Additionally, a lot of queer folks in smaller towns or with less accepting family may not get or see any other Support this time of year in their hometown. is it shallow? Undoubtedly. Is it better than having no show of Support at all? Very much so. And that isn’t a sentiment you can truly understand if you haven’t been in a similar situation.
