Caught in an ambush, Dmytro, a Ukrainian soldier from the 47th Separate Mechanised Brigade, sustained five bullet wounds yet managed to crawl to a covered area.
During aerial reconnaissance, he was discovered by a drone. Unsure whether it was friendly or enemy, Dmytro took a risk and signalled for urgent help.
He first showed his tourniquet and watch, indicating that time was running out, then pulled out his military ID to prove he was Ukrainian. Within the hour, medics from the 47th SMB evacuated him using an American Bradley IFV. Dmytro is now recovering in the hospital.
