  1. Deschamps isn’t convinced by him which is perfect, keep him fit

  2. Lmao he’s clear of both by miles. But sure, rest my mans.

  3. Imagine getting to watch Saliba in training and then not picking him in the first eleven.

  4. Deschamps publicly criticised him saying “he does things that I don’t like” which is rare for him to do. We all know that international football is kinda different, and players sometimes just struggle to adapt to the new style or whatever. It’s just managers personal preference at the end of the day when you’re as stacked as France are in all positions. Apparently he just prefers as much physical presence as possible in his CB. So that would make sense with his selection. It’s kinda like how Maguire works for England despite people calling for him to be dropped. Maybe upamecano and konate just work in this team and deschamps trusts them

  5. But Arsenal fans told us he is the best CB in the world? So many football masterminds couldn’t possibly be wrong, could they???

  6. I mean konate is a walking talking tank, but saliba has been one of the best this season, but surprising really

  7. This seems like great news for Arsenal and/or England fans either way.

  8. How hard it could be to dislodge Upa in his current form?

  9. Good. Give the man a rest. He played every minute of last season.

  10. Well that’s Frances chances of wing dropping drastically

  11. Didier Deschamps knows best! If he doesn’t think Willy is good enough, then neither do I! Hopefully this continues for as long as possible- I’ll be happy to start every season with a fit & rested Saliba.

And while we’re on the topic, someone send Gareth Southgate a video package showing why Mainoo & Palmer have been better than Saka & Rice this season.

  12. France have won a major trophy without him so this is not controversial.

  13. Upamecano was a calamity waiting to happen when I watched him at the World Cup. Not watched anything else of him to can’t fully judge

  14. Mixed feelings on Konate. Obviously, as a Liverpool fan, I think he is a fantastic defender. However… he hasn’t had a consistent season due to injury, etc. We saw Quansah and VVD more than Konate. I’m not a France fan and would rather see Konate rest more and come back to my Bald Prince to train ready for the new season. All that being said, Saliba shits all over Upamecano. That’s not even close.

  15. I’d love to know why Daschamps doesn’t rate him. Personally I think Saliba is one of the best CB in the world right now, but I’m also a biased Arsenal fan, so idk.

  16. Good,it’s a double win for me being a Arsenal fan and supporting England (because of my love for Saka,Rice and Ramsdelle)
Saliba comes back fresh with no injury, and if England faces the tourney favourite France they can expose them.

  17. Based on the performance this season, Salib is clear of both of them tbh.

  18. CB is about the partnership, individually Saliba is clead of both but evidently the coach doesn’t believe the partnership is the best for the team.

  19. Good for Arsenal, won’t be burnt out before the season starts
