I saw these baby seagulls close to where I live in Helsinki this morning, went back to check in the evening and they are still there. It’s not a very busy place and there are no cars here, only pedestrians. Is it normal for them to be alone when they are so small? There are many adult seagulls around here but I didn’t see one right next to them. Not sure if there is anything I should do about it, I just don’t want them to get hurt.

  1. Yea, seagulls don’t even make a nest. Just plop that egg in a little dent in the rock or ground. They are not fussy parents it seems.

  2. The parents are probably watching them from a distance and getting involved if neccesary.

There were a few younglings in the yard of my apartment house earlier this week. They were staying pretty much in the same spot for a few days and then moved on.

Parents will come to feed them so no worries. And they will possibly make fake attacks or serve a shitload if anyone happens to approach the younglings.

  3. Yes.

Perfect time to ask ChatGPT about fresh seagull soup! I recommend yard grass and moss salad for the starter.

  4. On a different note, I saw a seagull getting chased along the street by an Alepa robot on Sunday and it was one of the funniest things I’ve seen in ages.
