American shells and ammunition are useful on the battlefield, but so far the weapons provided to Ukraine by Western countries have not had a decisive effect on the battlefield. This is written by the New York Times.
“Biden’s decision made the main difference not on the battlefield, but among all the other countries that followed his example,” Ben Barry, a senior fellow at the International Institute for Strategic Studies, told the The New York Times.
Analysts say that the influx of Western aid has made it easier for Ukraine to defend its positions, but has not yet had a decisive effect, since Russia retains a significant advantage in manpower and firepower
The The New York Times’s interlocutors suggested that Russia will continue offensive actions for most of 2024.
“But at some point it may face a shortage of tanks and armored vehicles. We have seen a really significant number of tanks and armored vehicles fighting on the Avdiivka front since October. And this rate of losses is probably not sustainable in the long term,” said Rob Lee, a senior fellow in the Eurasia Program at the Foreign Policy Institute.
He also specified that Russian troops “have not taken advantage of the Kharkiv offensive, although they have managed to force Ukraine to withdraw some forces from the Donbas.”
Ukrainian Lieutenant Denys Yaroslavsky noted that Ukrainian artillery brigades can now shell Russian troops more often.
“The Russian offensive has largely stopped. But south of Kharkiv, in the Donbas, Russia has resumed attacks on Ukrainian positions,” the article says.
According to reports from soldiers on the front, military reports and satellite maps of the battlefield compiled by independent monitoring groups, the front line has not moved significantly in more than two weeks despite intense and bloody fighting.
“Russia is now forced to rely on aerial bombs and longer-range missiles, which are more expensive than artillery shells,” the analysts explained.
According to Ukrainian commanders, Russian forces advanced about six miles into Ukraine before becoming bogged down by more heavily fortified Ukrainian positions. The commanders also said more Ukrainian troops had arrived to contain the Russian advance and that more American ammunition was being delivered to the front lines.
Lt. Yaroslavsky said Ukraine could hold its current positions by disrupting Russian logistics nearby by striking inside Russia.

  1. Most other countries helping Ukraine have lifted the ban on using their weapons in Russia before the US.

I believe the US and Germany were the holdouts. So, the premise of the New York Times (or as some call it The New Orc Times) is incorrect.

  2. From tanks and AFV's to mad max MTLB's and Scooby Doo vans. Now they are using golf carts and dirt bikes, next they will ride into battle on donkeys.

  3. Потери есть? Ваньки гниют, сво по плану
    Академик дыров одобряет

  4. How can you say that the weapons given by the West has not had a affect? If the Russian military is running out of tanks I don't think they have just disappeared. LOLOL.

  5. They will not run out armour, North Korea and China have so much old T-54/55 and T-72 and T-62 or variants of the same and Rússia will start to produce at least close to 100 each month of the T-72 or T-80'S and Serbia and Bielorrússia have another big Supply of old armour and many other countries that just want to get some levarege with the russians and will supply old soviet armour, more than 30.000 T-72 was made and the T-54/55 is in the 100.000 so even half have been destroyed or recycle over the years at least by modern inventories Rússia have acess to at least 20.000 of those old T-55 with a 100mm cannon that is still effective for troop support and they will be adding armour and improvement but those old steel machines are tough more than many people know, they will not be out of armoured hardware that easy now NATO and Europe that for 50 years have being destroying and making live miserable to Arms manufecters will run out of armour soon they should have given first all the Leopards 1 A5 and modernized version that are more analog the ukranians are more acostume to those type of armour and then they would be spending after some batches of the Leopard 2 and other type of modern IFV, the Bradley have done a great job despite in the west they dont get much love and in IFV Europe and America have the capability to supply Ukraine with alot of stockpiles of IFV but Ukraine are losing great Numbers of armour sometimes abandon with anti armour missiles brand new thats incomsibable, they cannot abandon or leave those pieces of hardware that cost millions and have thecnology that Rússia should not put their hands, like the CV-90's that Rússia have capture alot of them brand new not even a shoot fired, Shoigu in a video is inspecting 4 CV90 at once brand new abandon by Ukraine or just leaved in a deal of corruption even Milan 3 missiles are being used by Rússia more than Ukraine with devastating effects to Ukraine armour, its a complicated countries

  6. Después de esta guerra nadie querrá comprar los "blindados rusos", salvo para contrarrestar disturbios de civiles, porque para la guerra esas chatarras soviéticas no sirven para nada.

  7. Russia is forecast to start to run out of reserve stocks of tanks, artillery barrels and munitions at the end of 2024. Satellite imagery shows that remaining stocks have been shipped to consolidation sites prior to factories for refurbishment. Russian military output will fall below operational needs in 2025 even when using obsolete Soviet era equipment.

  8. No sooner the new electric tanks will show up in the front, they only need a charger from 100 to 100 meters. The west is doomed with this new tanks in batteries.

  9. Adolf poutine envoie les soldats russes a une mort certaine.
l'UKRAINE lamine l'armée russe doucement mais sûrement.
    Mais le tyran s'en fou.
    l'UKRAINE vaincra 🇺🇦💪😉👍🇨🇵

  10. Soon, Russian infantry units of conscripts holding corrugated sheets of roofing tin for protection will be designated "armored units".
