This is so f*cking misleading. First of all most of the singers and bands in Istiklal Street(Taksim) are either kurds or arabs.
There are certain spots where you can perform and you need to take permission for that. No one would even dare to stop someone singing just because the language is Kurdish, not with the current government which needs the votes of conservative Kurds more than any other party.
However I am editing the title for you and your pink asses that know the world through reddit.

Every turk that visits istiklal once in a while knows about these kurdish musicians or even arabs cause its normal and nobody picks on them but it seems this time the crowd was interrupting the tram line and the police with zero agression approached them.But ofc europeans were ready to jump on the turkish hatewagon before this post
The official excuse given was that the musicians and the crowd around them were obstructing ambulance and tramway passages.(It’s a very busy street) The police in question stopped them by saying something along those lines rather than anything racially charged. I can’t say anything conclusive for either way but it’s plausible that this was innocuous.
