Very positive news, move away from reliance on the combustion engine and fossil fuels and looking towards electric engines and greener transport. Safeguards around 500 jobs as well so that’s great for the workers at the plant too.
Let’s hope that their pledge and target by Ford to be all electric cars by 2030 can be reached. Good news story 🙂
£230 million, of which £30 million will be funded by the UK taxpayer through the automotive transformation fund.
The UK goverment is desperate to sure up vehicle manufacturing following Brexit, and the departure of Honda’s ~5000 direct and indirect jobs in and around Swindon.
Very good news. Seems a lot of electric car production and battery production is moving to the UK.
This is petty business for someone like Ford, hardly a news item.
Good news, hopefully ford can use their mega sized production capacity and markets like the fl50 lightinging in US and others in UK and European markets to reduce costs and makw them affordable.
Good.More electrics are welcome and the UK could likely use it.Especially after the Swindon kerfuffle.

Meanwhile $11.4bn in the US.

P.S. Drop in the ocean for Ford who invested £1.5bn in the UK previously just a few years ago:

And wouldn’t have ANYTHING at all to do with a government loan of £500m only last year:
