Basically a big snow storm was coming in Greece the government suggested to the people to not go outside and stay in their houses but some of them did go outside and they got stuck in the snowstorm they were stuck in the car’s for 5+ hours until the rescue team was able to evacuate them to the closest hotel for the night
We knew since last week that a snowstorm was coming to Athens. The government said we are ready for it.
Surprise surprise, they did nothing and the day of the snowstorm finally came. Cars got stuck for many hours in a highway (it’s like a ring road of Athens) because of the snow. Government blames the company which owns the road and that company blames the drivers.
That’s the most important road the cars got stuck, but many central roads are blocked too.
The only good thing the government did was send the military to provide food, water and blankets to the drivers, while leading the people to hotels. That happened after too many hours though (like 10-12 hours).
