Hi r/czech I need your help,
I have spent a lot of time trying to look for “extra firm tofu” in Czech supermarkets however I seem to be unable to find any. Most tofu is not even properly labeled (silken/soft/firm/extra firm) which makes it even harder to find. I tried looking around on the internet and was unable to find any only silken extra firms or this one : [https://www.puritas.cz/tofu-extra-firm-385g/](https://www.puritas.cz/tofu-extra-firm-385g/) but this one is for some reason brown.
Has anyone been able to find eshop / store in czech republic which sells Extra firm tofu?
Thanks,

Asia Grand in Brno sells [dougan](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dougan). More specifically it’s this product: https://saigon-monsun.com/SW-Getrockneter-Tofu-mit-Fuenf-Gewuerzen-eingelegt-400g-sehr-wuerzig
You can also try various health food stores (zdravá výživa). They sometimes have brands of tofu not available in supermarkets.
I think it is just a bad photo. I bought soft one from the same company and it was white while the photo was brown. I bought it from http://www.rohlik.cz
Try Asian stores (not a Vecerka, but actual Asian store) or vegan/eco friendly stores. Stuff like that is barely stored in normal supermarkets.
Youll have to look in some special asian goods store in prague or brno as tofu is not really eaten here. I personally dont know anyone who eats it.
Forget about mainstream supermarkets. There are almost no vegans and so shops simply do not care.
Most tofu sold in Czech supermarkets is firm tofu. Maybe try out different brands and find out which works best. Most recipes call for extra firm and I just use regular tofu (which I believe is “firm”) and it works all right. The brand that I prefer is SunFood and it’s sold in Billa.
