Portugal moves to outlaw anti-gay blood donation prejudice

  1. As someone who can’t donate blood because of this, I don’t really have much of a problem with it. It’s simply a fact that HIV/AIDS prevalence is much higher among MSM. There are countless other strict rules like if you were ever in a certain country at a specific time.

  2. If the blood is tested before it’s transfused to another and the tests are significantly reliable, (which is probably the norm already) I don’t see any problem other than prejudice.
