not a gun battery pointed North but loudspeakers South Korea is restarting its campaign of propaganda aimed at North Korea sending news and information and even K-pop across the border at an earsplitting volume the measures we will take may be unbearable for the North Korean regime but they will send a message of Hope and light to the North’s troops and its people it’s in response to North Korea’s campaign of trash balloons this week more than 300 balloons like these again landed on South Korean territory following hundreds of others in previous weeks despite pyongyang’s announcement that it would pause the operation they’re full of waste including cigarette ends toilet paper and animal excrement Pyongyang calls them Gifts of sincerity they in turn a retaliation for balloons sent for years by South Korean activists and North Korean defectors to drop anti-regime leaflets USB drives holding krama and K-pop videos and US Dollars it’s all part of a new raising of tensions on the Korean Peninsula Pyongyang has been ramping up its missile testing and last week Soul announced the suspension of a 2018 military agreement that forbid Frontline activity the suspension will remain in effect until Mutual trust between the North and the South is restored the two koreas are technically in a state of War as they have been since the end of the Korean war in 1953 as they have never signed a peace treaty

South Korea resumed Sunday a loudspeaker propaganda campaign against the North as Pyongyang sent a fresh barrage of trash-filled balloons across the border. Relations between the two Koreas are at one of their lowest points in years and in recent weeks the two have engaged in a tit-for-tat campaign of balloon launches, with analysts warning the escalating cycle could end in actual military skirmishes.

  2. Why on earth do news outlets refer to these countries by their actual names, you are better to call these countries like south Korea, Israel, Taiwan as what they are, extensions of the USA empire. The USA is behind all of this.

  7. Unfortunately, this might seem like a kid's joke to foreigners. However, playing music through loudspeaker is a good attempt to indirectly expose part of a free democratic country to North Koreans and let them know that there is another world. There have been several such attempts before. This is a warning to the North Korean government, which keeps firing missiles and sending waste balloons, and at the same time killing two birds with one stone.
