I am in Romania and saw this whilst on the train to Brașov. Come ON, this country is just beautiful

  1. If you can, and are fine with a light hike in winter, go visit the Moeciu/Fundata area (closest railway station is Zarnesti, which you can easily reach from Brasov). It’s a storybook valley between two mountain ranges.

And yep, the Bucegi mountains are fabulous. You’re looking here at Caraiman (left) and Costila (right) peaks. The valley between them (Valea Alba) has probably the most hardcore rockclimbing routes in the country.

  2. Calatoriile cu trenul sunt perfecte pentru peisaje, trenul trece prin zone mai salbatice. Cu masina ai fi descoperit un permanent santier pe marginea soselei.

  3. I’ve been by train there a lot of times, I’ve been in those mountains a lot of times, and I’m still amazed whenever I see them.

  4. It’s a beautiful country indeed especially in the Brasov region , hope your train travel will be as lovely as it been for now and that you don’t get to stay in the train for 19 hours like some of us did.

  5. I don’t think anyone denies that Romania is a beautiful country. We have mountains, a seaside, rolling green plains that stretch as far as the eye can see. It’s the people that are the issue.

  6. Everything that wasn’t yet touched by human habition is beatiful all over the world.

Just make sure to visit some cities as well. And not just the touristy locations. That’s how you get a real idea of what Eastern Europe really is like. 🙂

  7. It’s also impressive at night, when the cross is lit up. If there’s also a bit of fog to reflect the light it looks like Jesus is coming. I’m not religious by any means, but that looks awesome.

Rant over. Cum ar zice nea Costel drojdieru. Da-va-n p**a mea.
