Honestly at this point as a society we need to start viewing Toryism it should be seen and treated as the mental illness & disease it actually is in reality. I mean the amount of extreme harm it and those that follow & expose such thinking/ideology do is genuinely insane.

Well, yeah, it’s not like the Vote Leave government was ever going to ever listen to experts when it came to the economy. Their entire platform is the denial of economic reality and economic science.

I don’t live in the U.K. anymore but I see what’s going on and I’m simply disgusted by this government.
I fear that this is getting drowned out because of Johnson’s lockdown stupidity. I’m not going to give him the credit of masterminding a dead cat, though – I think that this just happened to also come out because of sheer incompetence.
What more people should be talking about is the wholesale robbing of the public purse that would bury any government not under the Tory label. How anyone can still claim that Labour would’ve been worse for the budget with a straight face is beyond me at this point.
At least some papers are reporting on it this morning, although I doubt they will go as far as to look into where the money was actually sent to.
Why do do many news outlets pussyfoot around. Call it what it is. Corruption. The billions weren’t wasted, they were embezzled.

Levelling up is little more than a PR exercise. It’s just there to subdue and dazzle voters.
The UK has some of the worst regional inequality in the developed world. And this is only going to get worse as the deranged free-market ideology of our leaders is enacted.
Remember this when the next election comes around and the Tories accuse Labour of being irresponsible with money.
Here’s an idea put hyper intelligent people in charge of the government, not money grabbing assholes.
You could say they’re not mutually exclusive, but really intelligent people have no interest in financial gain beyond what is necessary.
We need scientists and scholars not posh entitled children.
Same story down to the local level.
Classic “Install some temporary bike paths, and remove them before they have a chance to see if they even worked – spoiler, some of them were great, and those that weren’t were put in stupid ass places” It’s throwing money around just because they want to be seen to be doing something.

Billions spent so far on this project to unite the North and South economically, only for them to cancel the entire Northern leg.

This is nothing at all to do with making the whole country on an equal footing, this is all to do with keeping the Conservative Party in a position of power so that their benefactors profit from it.

I think the worst thing on Levelling Up I’ve seen from a Conservative was an MP in the North of England complaining that the Government’s policies were useless and that they really needed to copy Labour’s New Deal for Communities scheme.
I just can’t wrap my head around that one.
More stuff they’ve got no intention of following through on.
