I’m selling stuff on DBA, but this seems suspicious. Is this a scam/virus?

  1. yeah don’t click that…. that’s a scam. probably trying to steal personal information from you. just block the number/report for spam/scam

  2. They’re being overly pushy, trying to give you no time to think it out. Just push, push, push.

    It’s a scam.

  3. The more urgent the buyer appears, the higher the chance of it being a scammer. It’s a very standard modus operandi to create a sense of urgency to make people rush into something and lessen their critical thinking.

  4. I had something similar a couple of days ago. They wanted me to send a gaming chair by post. I got extremely sceptical, because I was sure that shipping for that would have been so expensive, that you could have better bought a new chair.

But same tone, foreign number, super pushy, trying to convince me everything is super easy and I just have to click that link.

It’s my first time trying to sell something over DBA and it is so frustrating.

  5. Not likely a virus but that is absolutely not a postnord link.

Would you mind sending me the link in a private message? I work with this kind of thing and I’d love to take a look at it from my secure box.

  6. !00% scam.

The site they are linking to is “pays.guru” anything before that last part is a customizable subdomain. Could as easily have been scammer.pays.guru. and has nothing to do with PostNord.

  7. It’s fake. Never do stuff like this. This is why when I sell (which I rarely do) I do it face to face or through PayPal, cause it’s instant and they have a money back policy.

I’ve rarely sent stuff through mail, I did it once with a vinyl, and luckily it wasn’t a scam, but still, be cautious.

  8. 100% a scam .. That link will likely give you a virus (or try to), it will definitely not have a phat paycheck linked..

If you decide to click, do it in a properly setup VM (preferably a machine used for just this purpose) for shit and giggles, to see what they aim to send.

  9. The key to selling on DBA is that you, the seller dictate the conditions.

If a prospective buyer won’t accept that, then you don’t sell.

    No discussion.

  10. Don’t accept anything as a “late transfer”! Always make sure you either got your money first or a official and trustworthy 3rd party has it!
