today Russian President Vladimir Putin offered a ceasefire in Ukraine but the terms included giving up more land Griff Jenkins has more from Washington with the fighting in eastern Ukraine largely remaining a stalemate Vladimir Putin is trying a new round of diplomacy the Russian president floating a new peace proposal on Friday calling for an immediate halt to the Russian offensive in exchange for the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from areas already controlled by Moscow and an end to Ukraine’s NATO membership process Russia is offering an option that will make it possible to really end the war in Ukraine we’re urging to turn this tragic page of history and to begin restoring step-by-step relations of trust but the ukrainians call that a nonstarter and even with fighting intensifying along the Eastern Front they say they’re in a good position to Stage a counter offensive in the summer it was not a serious attempt to agree on peace and had no relevance to any negotiations there is no possibility to find romise the new diplomatic Push by Russia comes as NATO defense ministers meet in Brussels with the alliance saying it will now take point in coordinating military aid to the ukrainians an attempt to give Europe more responsibility as political uncertainty grows here in Washington but defense secretary Lloyd Austin says the new Arrangement doesn’t mean the US is ending its commitment to Ukraine and the United States stands behind NATO’s continued support and our allies and partners will stand by Ukraine for the Long Haul today’s announcement comes just a day after President Biden signed a 10-year bilateral security agreement with Ukrainian President Vladimir zalinski in Washington Griff Jenkins Fox 32 Chicago

    Next one will not be that generous.

    Ukraine could have a Crimea, that just were asked to prolongate lease agreement for Russian Navy base.
    Ukraine refused. Lost Crimea.

    Then they were asked to respect Autonomia in 2 Russian speaking regions out of many.
    They refused – they got 2 break away republics.
    Ukraine were asked to Respect this 2 republics regions.
    Ukraine refused and lost 4.

    Now they are been asked to accept 4 regions going to Russian.
    If they refuse – soon it’s gonna be 8 regions.

  19. It's a land grab, resource grab, just avarice, greed and a Genocidal hate for the successful and free Ukrainians. If Putin bits off a few hundred miles of real-estate he will use Ukraine as a launch pad to move into Poland and
    Moldova. (NATO Countries). How do we know…. because for 35 years he has said and published Manifestos stating he would return all three Countries to the "Russian Motherland" Chilling.

If he wants an end to the war tell him to take his troops home. His passed lies have caught up with him. Don't make the same mistake to believe a single word he says.
