Russia Ukraine War, Israel’s Gaza War & More: G7 Summit Big Takeaways | Vantage with Palki Sharma

[Music] [Music] [Music] d two of the G7 Summit the meetings are still underway a joint statement is expected but broadly the outcomes are on expected lines the G7 are getting tough on Russia and China there’s more support for Ukraine including both financial and Military assistance a promise to boost Big Ticket Investments and a clear message to Israel and Hamas to deescalate let’s bring you the top five highlights highlight number one Russian money for Ukraine after much back and forth the G7 has pulled the trigger on this proposal they will use Frozen Russian assets to support Ukraine the G7 will give $50 billion to Kev which is a multi-year loan but Ukraine doesn’t have to repay the loan profits of the Frozen Russian funds will be used to repay this loan and where will Ukraine deploy this money broadly in two areas first to buy more weapons from the west and second for the Reconstruction efforts Italy’s Prime Minister and G7 host Georgia Malone announced this deal I can confirm that we have reached a political agreement to provide additional financial support to Ukraine of about $50 billion by the end of the year we are not talking about a confiscation of these assets but of the interest that occurs over time obviously Russia is not happy Moscow is threatening quote unquote extremely painful retaliatory measures but it’s not the only agreement here that will displease Moscow here’s highlight number two the US and Japan have signed security Accords with Ukraine these are long-term security commitments valid for up to 10 years and what do they entail pretty much everything that Ukraine needs both the US and Japan are promising more defense equipment for Ukraine more intelligence sharing training for Ukrainian soldiers assistance to ramp up weapons production and humanitarian Aid the US and Japan have pledged all of this now this PCT is non-binding so there are no guarantees in terms of delivery but Ukraine’s president zinski is still happy he’s attending the G7 Summit and he has called these agreements historic he says they will pave the way for Ukraine’s NATO membership the issue of NATO is covered through the text of the agreement it states that America supports Ukraine’s future future membership in NATO and recognizes that our security agreement is a bridge to Ukraine’s me membership in NATO Ukraine has similar agreements with other allies so far Kiev has signed at least 15 such pacts but the promises made by the US and Japan Stand Out zilinski says the US has promised more lethal weapons to Ukraine this includes new squadrons of F-16 Jets and Patriot missile systems Japan is giving more financial aid to Ukraine it has outlined a commitment worth $4.5 billion Europe too is promising to expand support to K so that’s a commitment that the G7 have made in a United Way so it will be shared by each member and there will be a decision to be taken Europe by the Americans the Canadians and the Japanese it’s a joint effort by the entirety of the members of G7 the G7 is also sharpening it its attacks on Russia that’s highlight number three G7 leaders have made a pledge they want to weaken Russia financially and for this they have identified three targets first Russian oil supplies the G will strictly enforce a price cap on Russian oil second Future Energy projects in Russia the G7 wants to restrict the flow of funds towards these projects and third Russia’s metal trade the G7 plans to clamp down on it it is a strong signal that uh we are sending to Ukraine that we will support Ukraine in its fight for freedom for as long as it takes it is also a strong signal to Putin that Putin cannot Outlast us the goal is to to restrict Russia’s international trade and significantly reduce its revenues and to achieve this goal the G7 will slap more sanctions and double down on enforcement because so far these tools have been ineffective Russia has managed to skirt more sanctions it is also reducing dependence on the Global Financial system the Moscow exchange has suspended trading in dollars and euros and going forward Russia has plans to Target European assets the countries of the West have Frozen now part of Russian assets and currency reserves now they are thinking about any sort of legal grounds allowing them to finally appropriate them despite all the chicanery theft will certainly remain theft and it will not go unpunished so the West versus Russia battle is only set to intensify both on the battlefield of Ukraine and on the economic front but what about the other War the Israel versus Hamas War well that came up for discussion too and that is highlight number 4 the G7 is sending some clear messages to Israel they’re against a fullscale invasion of Rafa and they don’t want the war to spill over especially to the north where Israeli forces are intensifying their operations against the hisbah in Lebanon but there is no movement on the ceasefire proposal and US President Joe Biden is blaming Hamas for the lack of progress the biggest hangup so far is Hamas refusing the sign on even though they have submitted something similar whether it not it comes to fruition remains to be seen we’re going to continue to push I don’t have a final answer for you so this conflict isn’t ending anytime soon the G7 leaders also discussed China at length and that is highlight number five on our list the G7 is planning curbs on Chinese exports particularly its electric vehicles Chinese cars are piling up on European ports there is an over Supply from China so the G7 wants to raise export barriers it has also warned Beijing against supporting Russia’s War zilinski too issued a warning to Chinese president Xi Jinping I had phone conversation with a leader of China by phone he said that he will not sell any weapon to Russia that is the first we’ll see with you we’ll see but he said to me if he’s respectable person he will not because he gave me the word the G is challenging China on another front too they will challenge China’s belt and road with their own counter initiative it is called partnership for Global infrastructure and investment now this is something that was announced in 2022 by the group of seven the plan is to mobilize some $600 billion where will this money go it will be used to fund development projects around the world after a sluggish start the G7 seems to be making some progress on this front some new initiatives have been announced at this year’s Summit collectively they’re worth $30 billion this money will fund a wide range of projects the world over they will cover areas like infrastructure digital infrastructure cyber security and climate change and who is fitting footing the bill for these projects mostly the private sector all told I’m proud to announce the United States has mobilized more than 60 billion dollars in Investments around the world thus far that’s double where we were last year now we’ve still got a long way to go to close the infrastructure Gap that holds too many countries back the G7 is still far away from its Target of $600 billion but at least this is a start so overall the G7 leaders have covered a lot of ground but for those who had hoped for solutions to pressing Global problems the summit May disappoint fan of Italy’s famous Cuisine well we are serving it with a side of diplomacy as the G7 leaders gather At the G7 summit, leaders spent considerable time discussing some of the most pressing issues – Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine, Israel’s Offensive in Gaza’s Rafah and China’s growing economic clout. The leaders vowed to step up pressure on Russia, expressed concerns over Israel’s expanding war and discussed ways to tackle the “oversupply from China”. India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also attending the summit. This would be his first overseas engagement since taking oath for a record third time as Prime Minister. Palki Sharma brings you the five big takeaways.

  1. 😅😅😅😅😅those are nothing but just words 😅😅😅😅, how many promises did those fools fulfilled 😅😅😅😅😅😅

  2. Those who are not in the summit but influence are Russia and china, the one who is there but worth noting is india.

  3. I feel sorry for Ukraine. They could have ended the war with Russia year ago but Biden wants the war to keep going😢 more and more Ukraines are dying, what’s the point?

  4. America and the western countries are the biggest hypocrites and literally bully. All these middle eastern countries were actually good

  5. Ukraine will use Russia's money to buy weapons from the West!!

So we take their money and pretend to give it to Kyiv and then collect it back from selling weapons.

    What a smart move.

Only fools believe the Ukraine war is what is shown on big media.

  6. 6 of the #Genocide7 corporate criminals will be gone at some point next year latest. Sunak will be gone in a couple of weeks. Macron may be forced to resign. Trudeau is now dragging his party back to third place almost entirely with foreign policy errors – like believing US "intelligence".

  7. These stupid "10 year security pacts" with US & Japan simply force Russia to leave nothing on a map to call Ukraine This is a cynical trick by the #Genocide7 to force Russia to become tbe successor state and thus assume Ukraine's intractable debts.

  8. Russsia is very strong experience about embargo , Russia is great relationship with China and ASEAN country and South America and Middle East like Iran or other Middle East country

  9. Ukraine is nothing compared to Russia it’s funny how this comedian thinks he has a voice on the world stage. The west are just Using Ukraine and that’s it.

  10. Oh, look at the G7 leaders pretending to solve the world's problems in a weekend. How noble of them. 🙄
