Why distorting the countries on the map? A color code would have been more readable
We hab many horses
Ok, what’s the back story on why there are so many horses in Belgium? I know that Romania has horse farms that supply horse meat to the rest of Europe. What about Belgium?
I read the title thinking this would be the total amount of horsepower in car engines! That would be an interesting map for seeing which country likes powerful cars, if anyone cba to gather the data. I’m betting UK and Germany near the top.
Baltics looks like they ate a lemon or something.
horse before brorse
Czech republic is weirdly small for a country in the top 5 per capita. Austria and Sweden have comparable population and are much larger on the map.
Belgium, chill
Look at my horse
If it was about cars Germany would be on top
Why is Iceland so weirdly distorted?
She already done had horses.
Iceland has 70.000 – 80.000 horses and a population of 370.000
That means 0.202 horses per person
Why does Sweden not increase in size in a similar way Belgium does? Ireland and Czech Republic also seems quite similar, especially compared to the Netherlands?
I know a cartogram distorts geographical elements in favor of topological ones but it seems inconsistent
Iceland likes horses so much they reshaped their island into one
If only there was Iceland on this map. 5x more horses per capita than Belgium (0,240)
2010 Irish Horse Census : 106,020 horses counted of which 37,513 were thoroughbreds (Vollblüter)
Estimated total horse population in Ireland is approximately 180,000
180000/5000000=0.036
I am a bit disappointed with Hungery! You guys are proud ancestors of the Magyar horde of Árpád!

Hey, where’s Finland? We have horses.
The ‘cavalry’ is strong in Belgium.
