Palestine’s quest for statehood: 145 countries now recognise a Palestinian state • FRANCE 24
it was in 1947 that Palestine had its first chance of being officially recognized as an independent state it’s then that the UN voted a partition plan that would have created two Nations Israel and Palestine but Arab states and Palestinian Representatives believed that the un’s plan was unfair they rejected it and Israel alone was recognized order the West Bank remained under Jordanian control for two decades with the Arab Coalition hoping to defeat Israel militarily and to establish a Palestinian state in its place but this failed and in 1967 the six- day war ended with Israel occupying the Palestinian territories of the West Bank and Gaza Strip in the 1970s the Palestinians turned back to the United Nations which declared the PLO the Palestinian Liberation Organization as the official representative of the Palestinian people in 1987 the first inada or the uprising it pushed the battle for Independence into the spotlight neither arat nor other person else can stop this Ina it will continue wave after wave till achieving real peace through establishing our independent Palestinian state in 1988 the PLO declared the the independence of Palestine 78 countries recognized it that same year in the 1990s israelian Palestinian negotiators made a breakthrough with the Oslo Accords but peace talks collapsed by 2000 as successive Israeli governments cemented their control over the West Bank building more and more settlements the idea of recognizing Palestine without a peace deal gained momentum UNESCO integrated Palestine as a member state in 2011 the following year Palestine became a un Observer State over 140 of its 193 members have already recognized it at the current war in Gaza others like Norway Spain and Ireland say they too recognize the statehood of Palestine
Israel’s war in Gaza since the October 7 attack has revived a global push for Palestinians to be given a state of their own. Norway, Spain and Ireland on Tuesday became the latest countries to recognise a state of Palestine, breaking with the long-held view of Western powers that Palestinians can only gain statehood as part of a negotiated peace with Israel. Their move, which has infuriated Israel, brings to 145 out of the 193 UN member states that have recognised a Palestinian state.

Do Palestinians want a two state solution?
They have turned it down so many times.
Will it bring peace?
I RECOGNISE IDF TO RULE THEREIN
Bravo!!!
Who are its people then? The Jews the Arabs Muslims, Hebrews , Christians, Hindus? If you are going to recognize it then its people should be equal right?
These countries have backbones and the ball of steels
Palestine going to recognize Israel
So that's a total of 27 countries that are either western in cohoots/collaborators making $$££ or have control/colonials of smaller country.
Arafats vanity the biggest obstacle to a peaceful settlement.
Regardless of how many countries recognising palestine, it will not get the statehood without Israelis approval.
Recognition is fine, but all these countries, signing up to support Palestine – thats all they ever do. Nothing else.
So they're now supporting Hamas ?????
They can recognize Palestine all they want but as long as Palestinians refuse to take any deals, nothing will come out of it.
So this means we now support Hamas as well? What's next, recognize the legitimacy of ISIS? What is going on with our western leaders, have they all lost their minds?
World democracy have supported Palestine. They will be free soon.
Too bad that little Italian guy named Veto doesnt.
So where is this state of Palestine and who is the leader of this state?
How about un now give a participation plan on America to give half of the States to native Americans
Arabs many times rejected proposals. Many people dont know but Gaza and West Bank under Egypt and Jordon control for 19 years between 1948-1967 as mentioned in the video. They didnt create a free Palestinian state. Why? Because the main goal of Arabs to destroy Israel. BTW, Israel didnt start any war by now 1948, 1967, 1973, and 2023. Do you think something weird here? The key word is "Jew". Another BTW I am not against free Palestinian State. I am suspicious of their true intentions. They never seeked for compromise with Israel.
If Israel don’t it won’t. And they don’t want it. Sorry.
May a Palestinian State free the Palestinian people from future Nakbas.
When will be the best time to recognize Palestine? When its population has been destroyed?
The recognition of Palestine is the recognition of the human rights of the Palestinians and that Israel is not the one that sets the agenda of what is best for the Palestinians.
Israel has already demonstrated that it has no good intentions for the palestinians.
What a joke but couldn't accept Taiwan a self governing democratic country & never been under ccp china control to be a member. UN is a scam a puppet to China &Russia
Back in 1930 it called jaffa not tel aviv
It’s 146 Idk how they count now 147 with the impending recognition by Slovenia, only European countries with genocidal colonialist history and their offspring don’t recognize the state of Palestine yet
European countries without dark colonial past recognise Palestine as a state (amoung those are all countries of former Warsaw Pact).
Don't be a pawn of Hamas and Iran.
Palestine isn't a state this is just a name
Why didn't Arabs create a Palestinian state when the West Bank and Gaza were under Jordanian and Egyptian control before 1967?
