Brexit: UK plan to remove EU law sparks nations anger

  1. Changes to “artificial intelligence, data protection and clinical trials for new medicines” as a way to strengthen the economy sounds like the best opening to a dystopian cyberpunk novel.

  2. Makes no sense to maintain EU laws when we’re not EU members. This was the whole point of leaving the EU, divergence etc.

  3. And there is a problem with.. why?

UK has now so much in common with the EU like f.e. Japan has. UK doesnt have to obey EU laws anymore, nor should any other country outside of the EU.

  4. The UK should do this as fast as possible.

The reason the devolved governments are not happy is they see leaving the UK and joining the EU as an option. The more divergence, the harder it becomes to get their voters to agree to independence and then to join the EU.

  5. For some things that could make sense, for others (destined to be exported to the EU) maybe not so much.

  6. Hi, I didn’t editorialise the subject title the BBC have just changed it on their end, you can see all six other times the post was shared have the original title as I posted it . can you please restore the post?

  7. That was the plan. Get rid of all laws that benefit and protect the people and introduce new for benefit of corporations
