Used a paper map this morning to check my last few miles was an hgv route (it was) – my satnav kept telling me it wasn’t.
Map books are great. Real shame that their use is falling away.
Worked as a part time delivery driver when I finished 6th form, used the local a to z religiously. Sat Nav’s had only just come out, I actually got one as an 18th birthday present but it was no contest against the superior a to z.
Absolute classic bit of car clutter.
My London copy has the M25 as shaded line with “Under construction” next to it
This company was one of the biggest beneficiaries from ‘Care in the Community’. Every single community nurse had at least one of these.
Used to love reading the AA atlas in the back of the car as a kid. They had a section on road signs and I could name them all by heart by the time I was 10 or so.
Has it got the ring road or is it really old?
I have an a to z of manchester just like that! I also have a pocket sized one. I refuse to throw them out for some reason. When I first learned to drive they were invaluable.
A is for Andre Onana
B is for Bruno Fernandes
C is for Christian Eriksen
D is for Diogo Dalot
E is for Erik Ten Hag
F is for Facundo Pellistri
Oh sorry I thought it was a Manchester United A to Z…
I recently found one in my parents house from 1994, whole areas of that A Z have been bulldozed since
