Regular ground coffee is already 13€ / kg and now cucumber prices seem to go up.
Looks like normal pricing to me
Cucumber is 96% water …
So? The price of vegetables varies a lot during every year.
I’ll never afford to visit Finland, let’s face it.
Well, I assume they are grown under lights. The energy and heating bill must be insane right now.
4.99 euros is quite regular for local cucumbers in Estonia as well. Wouldn’t be surprised if some place already sold them with over 5 euros.
Cucumber price update from Norway: €2.6 (for 1x cucumber)
Prices are definitely going up.
Cucumber is 6 kroner in Denmark… (0,81€)
Have those been signed by John Lennon or something?
So if a large cucumber is around 300g that’s around €1.80 each. Here they’re 43p or a quid if you go organic. I do like little cucumber and cheese cream sandwiches with the crusts cut off.
Why all this plastic on the cucumbers?
About 40p in the UK or about 0.48€
€0,80 in Belgium.
Everybody mentions Norway when it comes to high prices but Finland is not far behind.
I am more shocked with all the plastic than with the price…
Wont be long until the kids are going to start flashing cucumbers in the street to signal how wealthy they are.
Belgium: between €0,80 and € 1,80 depending on where you buy it
Why are they all wrapped in plastic like that lmao
Imagine cucumbers being expensive when grown in the middle of the arctic winter in a greenhouse.
if you come Turkey with 6€ you can buy all grocery
Inflation is high right now… Groceries are getting more expensive. The main causes are the pandemic, supply shortages, increased demand, and employee changes. According to a recent report the overall prices of groceries increased 6.5% last year, which makes it the largest increase in over a decade!
Why would you eat cucumber in the middle of winter? And if you do, why would you complain of the price?
Cooked an English Christmas Dinner in Norway at Christmas. 12€ for a kilo or parsnips!! Same for sprouts!
Same in the UK was about 1€.
Next year I’m smuggling in my own veg.
The funny things is that here in Estonia the cucumber is sold for 2e/kg …and its imported from Finland 😀
In Croatia it’s 4.80€/kg for those cucumbers, and if we compare wages, which are 3x higher in Finland. They are quite cheaper in Finland.
Individually wrapped?
This is the price for DOMESTIC cucumbers. It’s winter, there has to be very special green house conditions to cultivate in the dead or cold, dark winter, hence the price.
Imported cucumbers are a lot cheaper
Jesus
That’s about 2.3€ per cucumber. With the gdp of Finland taken into account. That’s not that bad.
Gets it from grandma’s garden for free. The advantages of poor balkan country
