I just listened to Wu-Tang Clan’s Once Upon a Time in Shaolin. As music, it’s good. As art, it’s truly great

  1. I hadn’t heard a PS1 described as an audiophile grade CD player before.

  2. I listened to it in New York at this a listening event that took place in a church (172 Norfolk st) where they did the original promo photos for 36 chambers. That part alone was very cool. Candles and incense, thunderstorm playing over the PA while we waited for it to start. The whole experience was incredible and made me think about music the way art in gallery’s can make you think of things besides the skill of the painter etc. BIG BRAIN RZA perfectly showed “what is music worth” in the age of digital and instant access to art.

Definitely some heaters on there and a Raekwon track so good that I got mad it wasn’t available to replay haha. One of the days, Cappadonna was there and said he hasn’t heard his verse on the track since when they tracked it.

  3. The article says every purchase of a $1 NFT brings the album closer to release by 88 seconds – it’s currently slated to release in 2103.
