Are parts of the German population siding with Russia? | To the point

daa we just saw the European elections uh playing out in Germany with two political parties that are critical to Germany’s stance on Ukraine uh gaining very large support uh as compared to uh former elections we’re talking about among others the far-right afd party uh does that mean that at least parts of the German population are maybe even siding with Russia yes I would say there is a not too big portion of the society siding with Russia I would say in Eastern Germany that is really the case some feel more sympathy for Putin than for zalinski it was really a woring sign uh that uh the farri afd members of bundist talk did not listen to president zalinski uh while he was speaking at the bundestag

Destroyed cities, power plants and critical infrastructure: many areas in Eastern Ukraine are in ruins. And an end to the Russian aggression is nowhere in sight. In the midst of the war, Ukrainian President Zelensky is lobbying for help to rebuild his country. He’s asking Germany for aid, but also for more weapons. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is promising further support but wants to avoid an escalation of the conflict. Germany and NATO, however, must be ready to resist a war if things go wrong. We ask: Between fear and deterrence: Can Europe defend itself?

  1. You cannot possibly believe that some people in Germany want peace rather than endless war, which is what the United States clearly wants.

  2. The AfD made election gains in Western Germany as well, so it’s not just parts of the Eastern German population siding with Russia.

  3. It is around 20% in Germany which is way too much. We've always had some portion of very single minded people who were stuck to some anti American pro communist thinking. In the end a great majority is lucid and in favor of aiding Ukraine. Puck Futin btw.

  4. The novice, amateur, adolescent, corruption, atrocities comedian, clowm, joke non existence of political experience Zelinsky.

  5. Sorry young girls with rolls of money try to pay for possibly visit to their country, refused young girls, can't accept money possibly of illegally criminal stalking, scammers, fraudsters,,scheme people, can't accept bribes, or conspiracy theories from police. The investigation of bribes of Zelinsky from police.

  6. the increase of AFD votes has nothing to do with russia, its all about mostly working class beeing fed up with a party that should stand for the working class but does not

  7. The other day I watched a show in which experts from Ukraine and Russia participated. Ukrainian experts repeated the same thing about the "hateful Russian Empire". One of the participants from Russia spoke about how that "hateful Russian empire" built higher education, scientific institutes, large factories, energy systems, airports, gas pipelines, oil pipelines on the territory of Ukraine… In 33 years of independence, the government in Ukraine has not did nothing, except try to destroy or assimilate the Russians in Ukraine and deal with the Orthodox Church. None of the Ukrainians had anything to answer him, except some story about the democratization of society, although there is no democracy in Ukraine and there never was.
