So is the bridge going to be down for the yacht to make it’s return trip or is the yacht going to continue up the Rhine and come out in the Danube to the Black Sea warzone?
Nooo way!
Bezos has a tiny peener, guaranteed
It’s a great time for maintenance and repair. The way I see it, this is a good thing.
“Normal” people buy big cars to compensate, billionairs buy big yachts? Or is he pissed that a russian has a bigger yacht with the [Black Pearl](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Pearl_(yacht)).
>Oceano and Bezos will reimburse the costs.
No further discussion.
Maybe we shouldn’t bend over all the time for some billionaires all the time.
Pretty embarrassing seeing the Dutch bend over for an American billionaire…
The sooner the rich move on to buying starships the better for the rest of us bridge users.
Ah, I see that none of you angry idiots read the article. The yacht is being built right now. The fuck up is the idiot company, that decided to build that yacht on the other side of the bridge while fully knowing it would not fit. Don’t get me wrong, I still think that Bezos is a twat, but let’s not start shitposting clickbait here. And yeah, he’s going to fully pay for it, so whatever.
As much as I dislike bezos and amazon I just can’t see the problem. He’s literally paying for the bridge to be reconstructed after the ship passes through.
“Pleasure yacht” sounds sketch.
Honestly this can’t be that strange. If there are facilities to build that large of a ship this has got to happen somewhat regularly
Idiotic. I’m so mad about this.
His employees can’t take a break when they need to piss, but our gouvernement just takes apart a historical bridge for Jeff Bozo?
The Dutch port city of Rotterdam said Wednesday it would temporarily dismantle an historic bridge to allow a superyacht built for Amazon founder Jeff Bezos to pass.
There are a lot of shipyards in the Netherlands that don’t have access to the Maas or the Rijn. So boats (not just yachts) have to pass areas with lower bridges, small locks etc. all the time. Temporarily dismantling or enlargement of the current infrastructure is a really common occurrence here.
Really, nobody cares about any of that. Rather remove some old bridge for a day than stop a company doing its business. It’s a paid by the company as well, no costs for the state.
But removing a bridge for Bezos is suddenly a huge problem?
Many people have reminded us that he promises to entirely pay for the bridge to be reconstructed.
I’m glad he’s promised this, but I’m reminded of what George Carlin had to say about businessmen.
“Everybody knows by now, all businessmen are completely full of shit; just the worst kind of low-life, criminal, cocksuckers, you could ever want to run into… a fucking piece of shit businessman. And the proof of it is they don’t even trust each other! They don’t trust one another! When a businessman sits down and negotiates a deal, the first thing he does is to automatically assume that the other guy is a complete lying prick who’s trying to f*ck him out of his money! So he’s gotta do everything he can to f*ck the other guy a little bit faster and a little bit harder… and he’s gotta do it with a big smile on his face. You know that big, bullshit, businessman smile?
And if you’re a customer, whoa… that’s when you get the really big smile! Customers always get the really big smile as the businessman carefully positions himself directly behind the customer and unzips his pants and proceeds to service the account! “I’m servicing this account… this customer needs service.” Now you know what they mean when they say “we specialize in customer service”. Whoever coined the phrase “let the buyer beware” was probably bleeding from the asshole.
That’s business.”
He must think he is the king of the world! If they do dismantle it for Jeff…I guess he is!
Maybe they should dismantle the yacht and tow it through the bridge.
I hope some Dutch pacifist gently burns Bezos yacht.
If you trynna get put on and make quick bread hit me up. cost $5
