
A group of youths reportedly threw small items such as stones at fire fighters during a call out to a house fire in west Belfast on Sunday evening.
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service was attending to a fire in the Stewartstown Road area.
The received reports of a kitchen fire there at approximately 6.10pm.
Three appliances attended the scene – two from Cadogan Fire Station and one from Lisburn.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire and left the scene at 7.20pm.
It was believed to be an accidental ignition, with no injuries to any of the house’s occupants.
A spokesperson for the service said that some items were ‘lobbed’ at firefighters during the incident, but none made any contact with the workers on duty, and there were no injuries or damage to any of the appliances.
Police were also in attendance and the PSNI have been asked for further response.
