Paramount+ and Peacock will either need to merge or be sold off individually. They spent way too much on licenses, bleeding millions of dollars per month. Netflix has old contracts, Hulu has Disney deals, Disney+, AppleTV, and Prime Video are easily subsidized by their larger businesses.
In the Disney+ case, it’s basically a money printer because they own the license too.
It’s definitely fun to watch the absolute shitshow being directed by Sheri Redstone.
I read the book Unscripted when it came out (a couple years ago?) which makes this all the more interesting to follow in real time.
The complete dysfunction in that Redstone family is shocking beyond belief.
Considering I have Paramount+ as an add-on to Prime Video, it wouldn’t surprise me if eventually that’s the route they go down.
I hope they merge with Peacock. That’d be a great platform for comedy fans.
I pay for Paramount+ for Survivor and now the South Park specials… if I watch anything also is a bonus.
