Bullshit, Bomb that thing out off existence. One lest border with mordor.
Seems like it would piss Putin off. I say fuck it up.
It will likely go out this year. This is to draw attention away by saying it’s not a high priority cause of railway and shit
After the russians are forced out of Ukraine, the dismantling of this bridge ought to be covered live 24/7 on its own dedicated TV channel.
Make it a condition of russia’s surrender that the broadcast has to be aired in russian schools, and rigorously enforce it.
Perhaps logistic lines have shifted, but the damage to Russian troop morale or even national pride would be enormous
Yes, cos of new railroad that russia have built on the south when we had ammo shortage…
It would at the very least be a fun little experience for all the Russians that moved to Crimea and now lost their quick evacuation route back home. Can’t wait for the tears.
Still would make a cool redditt video though
Is this a bit like an English Premier League team’s directors saying “The manager has the full support of the board”, then firing him next day?
Not as effective but if you can then why not. Then the ferries and train lines. Just narrowing the targets down.
Although I would love to see that Putins penis extension go, I will leave the assesment of priotity targets and available weaponry to military experts.
Slava Ukraini.
Yes! Throw the Russian leaders off the scent of an impending bridge attack by stating it’s not as much of a strategic target as it once was. I started this comment sarcastically but now I realize that Russians might just believe this article and not think an attack is coming.
More like not practical for now. Still, the bridge has to go.
But it’d be funny!
Its symbolic, and morale boosting, which is its own major factor in war, isn’t it? If they get the chance I hope they take it.
Symbolic as fuck though.
The Doolittle raid in WW2 wasn’t effective damage wise, but still send a powerful message.
It’s a monument to Putin, but soon a metaphor.
Neither was the Dolittle raid in WWII, but it was a massive moral victory. It would show how weak Russia is and destroying something they used to fight the war is symbolic.
I think as a morale booster and at the same time a spirit crusher it’s an important target. Maybe no longer a tactical target. But the psychological war and the propaganda war are worth winning.
Just make the attempts to destroy it half-assed so the russians have to keep defending it or suffer an embarrassing loss
I dont agree with this at all.
I find it difficult to believe the bridge that is the rail and road system is only a quarter of the supplies going to Ukraine. The fuel trains alone would be an important target to stop fuel reaching the frontline. I cannot really see how Russian can transport that volume by ship alone.
It states in the report only one military freight train carrying around 55 fuel cars crossed the bridge. That seems difficult to believe only 1 fuel train. Well what about non military fuel or supplies ? How do you tell which ones are used for militray and which ones are not.
Stopping the bridge would force Russians in Crimea to use ships to transport all goods, even people would have to cross using the ships. It would put more strain on Russia using those ships, require more man power and become more expensive to ship goods.
Even if you force russian to tranport more by road and rail then you put more pressure on that system. When you attack those networks it has more impact.
Blowing the bridge then target the other supply lines would be the key. The bridge still plays an important role in this war.
The effect on the russian populace would be huge too. All those who had vacationed there, or dreamed of doing so one day. When they start seeing Crimea as a lost cause they will the war that way too
Ukraine have managed to make the bridge unusable without even destroying it.
If they say so we should do it even more.
If it makes Putim cry harder its important enough to be sunk.
Military says “we’re totally not interested in that dumb bridge anymore guys. Actually we’re not even gonna use those F16s anymore.”
The bridge is part of Russian capacity to and from Crimea. Destroying it means that the other transport links will get clogged with whatever is currently on the Kerch bridge, which is desirable.
Everything the west us making ukraine wait to do, wont be as effective.
