2. Meloni managed to keep gay rights and the right to abortion out of the final statement of the G7 last week. She’s going to do the same in the EU; she will try to push her backward christian values down our throats.

   I keep reading she’s moderate and all that, but I don’t believe any of that. She *acts* moderate on the European stage, because Italy is basically bankrupt and needs EU money. If you want to judge her, you should take a look at what she does in her own country, not on the European stage. And that’s not moderate. For from it, even.

   If she wants to turn Italy into a backward country with medieval views on gay people and women’s rights, then go for it. That’s what most Italians want, apparently. But we shouldn’t let her force that backward ideology down the throats of the rest of Europe, who don’t want those backward values to be the leading norm in our society.
