This England flag was in the Tbilisi subway station, which was built during the Soviet Union period when Georgia was not independent and had a different flag than they have right now.

  1. A couple of questions.

    1. Have you considered the possibility that this was painted on *after* they gained independence from the USSR and adopted their St. George’s cross flag.

    2. Failing that, have you considered the fact that Georgia’s national identity wasn’t just shat into existence in 1991 and that their connections to St. George (and the flag which he adopted) go back a bit further than before the USSR was even formed, and that this might have been why a St. George’s cross was painted on the roof of a metro station in Tbilisi all those years ago?

Sorry to make this such a Reddit comment but this post is a bit silly.
