IJsselmeer used to be a sea until we build a dyke to cut it off from the North Sea. Also it used to be bigger but part of it was drained to create a new province.
Sweden also have Vättern which I believe would rank 4th here.
Finland sure has one funny looking lake.
LMFAO DENMARK ARE YOU EVEN TRYING TO HAVE BIG CHAD LAKES YOU SMALL WATERBODIED VIRGIN SMÖRREBRÖD EATING CUNT
USSR/Russia: Let us invade Finlnd from the East
Lake Saimaa: No.
Why is Bodensee counted fr German? It is on the German/Austrian/Swiss border and not all if it belongs to Germany alone. In fact, there is no agreement as to hwere the borders are, so it doesn’t make sense to count it as just German, because it is just as German as it is Austrian (or Swiss).
More than half of the lac Léman is in Switzerland, it’s a little bit disingenuous to say it’s French.
Where’s Vatican City?
Why is the Lithuanian lake’s name given in Russian too? Wtf.
“Vodní nádrž Lipno” in Czechia is not a lake, but a dam.
The largest lake, on any EU map, is called Switzerland.
Finland’s looks like a death metal band logo.
Finland is cheating a bit, no?!
Considering Lough Neagh is there it’s actually lakes of the EU Customs Union.
Cerkniško jezero is indeed the largest lake in Slovenia… When it is.
And how many of these lakes are tamed & domesticated sea?
Inside the country you can barely throw a rock without it landing in a lake. They are everywhere and straight roads are nowhere to be seen the further inland you go.
Is this going by shoreline?
Does Belgium have any lakes that are not artificial?
Edit: Also, that’s a big picture – a png weighing in at 2676 kb. Compressed, without loss of detail, it becomes a 1847 kb png, or a 591 kb jpeg xl. Reddit should take the load off it’s servers with support for the new jpg. Just saying.
Amo Lago di Garda
Inner Carniola regional park official website says that at fullest it’s 26km^2. Not 38km^2. Fun fact, it goes from 0-26km^2.
