Putin calls freezing of Russian assets ‘theft’ which ‘will not go unpunished’

Vladimir Putin said on Friday that plans by western countries to provide Ukraine with loans using interest from Russian assets frozen abroad was theft and would not go unpunished.

Putin, speaking at a meeting with foreign ministry officials, said the way the west had treated Moscow showed that any country could fall victim to a similar western asset freeze. He said: ‘It is becoming obvious to all countries … that their assets and reserves are far from safe in both the legal and economic sense of the word. Anyone could be next in line for expropriation by the US and the west’

  2. Over the past 15 years, nobody in Russia has dared to challenge Putin's "Yes" with a "No", or vice-versa.
The result? Every year, Putin's dictatorship grew more and more powerful – but less and less intelligent…

  3. He’s complaining about theft while he is stealing land from Ukrainians and murdering Ukrainians. If he wants peace he should leave Ukraine and leave Ukraine alone.
