Were the data collected before or after the spike of electricity prices ? I think for majority of people this is mainly question of money, hard to convince people to buy more expensive electric car when they see how electricity price goes up on top of that.
suprised hydbrid is more than electric, i dont think they really have any advantage. Atleast in a couple of years they wont for sure
I hope to get an hydrogen fueled car on my next buy. Don’t know if they are counted as electric in this graph
I think this is what they would like and not what they will do really. Probably the survey is not too well done in this case.
Cyprus and Malta being small island nations, people are not worried by the hypothetical lack of range that is usually brought up in conversations about electric vehicles elsewhere in Europe.
My mother has just bought herself a Fiat 500e for the same reason, as she lives in Réunion and simply cannot use a full battery within a day, unless she somehow ventures into two round trips around the island in a row.
For once, a small country size is a great advantage in terms of technological conversion.
So on average richer countries want to buy diesel/petrol cars at a higher rate? Did not expect that correlation
The Italian Flag is wrong. It is supposed to be Green, White, Red.
If there were more charging stations for EVs Bulgarians (and probably others) will buy EV’s but the lack of these stations make it a difficult life decision. For example the town were I live only has the capacity to charge 2 EV’s at the same time and this is a 70-80k town. Also there isn’t anywhere to repair these cars in Bulgaria another point to focus on.
Yeah, I call bullshit on these numbers in Poland.
Wtf happened to italian flag?
Romania wouldn’t have been so high on the list if not for the Spring
I buy none of those, I use trains to save time and the environment.
Listen up, I have a “pleasure” driving an electric car ( not my car, but work car and I do not Recommend it). It is the worst car I ever had, you have to charge it at the power points of 50kwt plus, because if you go at many out there, they are not powerful enough for electric only car as you will be charging 24 hours or maybe 48 hours. Yes that is the truth. Now if you find the station powerful enough, it will take you 1. 5 hours to charge that car and there is 50 / 50 chance someone else will be charging, so you will be waiting for them to finish( maybe 1 hour). Imagine if you are about to run out of electricity?? You have no choise to look around for another charging point. And another thing, when you are on motorway, this car takes 5 miles per 1 mile driven, do your maths.
For the UK:
Petrol/Diesel: 33%
Hybrid: 36%
Electric: 31%
Also the chart isn’t correct, specifically ‘Electric’ gives the impression of a higher percentage. For example the chart shows that more than 80% of Cypriots would buy an electric car, but the [data](https://imgur.com/a/K789Mwk) shows that it’s 34%.

and if anyone’s interested here’s a comparison of the [data](https://imgur.com/a/feVmwAv) for the EU, China, the UK, and the US.
It’s easy as a romanian to say that you would prefer a hybrid or electric car when you don’t even have money for a second-hand / used 2-3 years old petrol or diesel car and you’re driving a 15 years old wreck that you bought last summer
I would personally add the hybrid amount to the petrol category, not the electric.
Yeah people in Romania or Bulgaria will for sure buy hybrid and electric vehicle more likely…
Lol i didn t expected romania to be so high
Ylati
Sucks that they’re not fun to drive
I would buy Hydrogen Fuel Cell over Battery any day
Lots of people answering what they think the pollster wants them to answer. I wish this were reality but it isn’t.
