Such a great picture – wonderful light. I thought the one guy was wearing antlers!
The picture is interesting; but I don’t think the tower is beautiful.
As an anecdote, I visit some companies in West Berlin on a business trip back in the 1980s when the wall was still standing. The manager of the company I visited pointed to the tower from his office window saying, they (the Communist) try to abolish the Christian god, but the sun reflecting in the tower they built forms the sign of the cross. He wasn’t very religious, but he liked the idea that the Communists did manage to abolish god. At the time we didn’t imagine that it would be the religious hold-outs who would form an important center of the resistance that brought down the regime in the end.
We’ve got a fernhurmhurm much like that one in Madrid.
Ours is uglier but not by much.
There’s one in Santiago de Chile as well, and it’s also quite horrendous.
